We want to use the resources that are available to us as best and as effectively as possible. We succeed in doing this, among other things, by manufacturing plastic packaging from up to 100% R-HDPE, i.e. from plastics that have been used and disposed of at least once.
Over 400 million tons of plastics are produced worldwide every year. This figure alone makes it clear how important it is to preserve the raw materials through recycling and to use them to produce high-quality plastic packaging.
To achieve this, the collected plastic is first shredded and then thoroughly washed. After this intensive wash, the flakes are melted and filtered and crushed into grains.
The end result is a recycled raw material that has properties similar to the newly produced plastics.
Studies have shown that the use of recycled plastics can save large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions – compared to using new granulate made from crude oil. But this is not the only reason why it pays off for companies to present their products in plastic packaging made from recycled materials: On the one hand, it makes it easier to comply with the packaging ordinance that has been tightened since the beginning of 2019. On the other hand, companies that present their products in plastic packaging made from recycled materials can also communicate this approach as an image advantage and thus use it for themselves.
The name says it all – with post-consumer recycling, packaging waste is processed that was used by the end consumer and then ended up in the yellow sack or the deposit machine. And although existing and therefore colored plastics are used here, we are able to produce our plastic packaging from recycled materials in various color variants without additional coloring. However, if the customer so desires, the packaging can also – within a certain range – be produced in other colors.
As a certified company, the latest standards in the areas of quality management, production efficiency, hygiene according to HACCP and energy management are taken into account in the manufacture of all articles. In addition to DIN EN ISO 9001, we have also been certified according to the BRCGS standard (AA grading) for over 5 years.
